When the face of a brick is cut away during the production of brick specials, refacing is required. During the refacing process, a durable weatherproof and fireproof bonding agent is smoothed over the cut surface having previously been mixed with pigments to match the existing brick colour. The texture is then replicated using special tools to be as close to the original factory texture as possible. and then finished with a grade of sand specifically selected to match the texture of the brick, and normally with a high content of the original bricks sand saved during the cutting process.
